Hendra House is an established family run residential home located in the beautiful and unspoilt market town of Ludlow in the heart of the South Shropshire countryside. The home is easily accessible by both road and public transport. Hendra House has developed a well deserved reputation for delivering high quality care to its residents and their relatives in pursuit of the homes mission statement, which is: “To provide a high quality and cost effective service to meet fully the care, personal and social needs of its residents, their relatives and their advocates at all times”. During our most recent unannounced inspection in February 2012 the home was found to be fully compliant in all sections inspected, a copy of the report can be viewed by clicking here. This is just one of the many accolades awarded by the home, a more comprehensive list of awards and achievements can be found on our Awards For Excellence page Hendra House is owned by Vince (right) & Gill Burmingham both of whom were raised and have lived in the Ludlow area all of their lives. Vince & Gill purchased the business in 2002 from the previous owner and formed Hendra Healthcare (Ludlow) Limited to facilitate the acquisition. Prior to the acquisition of Hendra House Vince was a Group Operations Manager with a national care company with responsibility for the management of a diverse range of care establishments that included general and EMI nursing care, general and EMI residential care as well as domiciliary care. Our Care Manager Mrs Melanie Bowen (left) joined the company in 2003, and is responsible for all aspects of care delivered to residents at the home. Mel leads a team of dedicated Senior Care Assistants, Team Leaders and Care Assistants. Hendra House is registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), to provide residential accommodation for 28 elderly residents and accepts residents who are either self-funding, or funded either in part, or wholly by the local authority.
